Non è chiaro a molti, specie a chi viene quotidianamente soggiogato ad arte, che la mancata approvazione dello Statuto non permetterà a pescatori, sub e diportisti di praticare alcun tipo di attività. Un limite alla possibilità di godere delle straordinarie bellezze naturali e paesaggistiche del promontorio di Milazzo». E’ netto l’attacco delle associazioni e dei comitati territoriali ambientalisti di Milazzo e della Valle del Mela nei confronti del consiglio comunale mamertino che continua ad inanellare sedute (già due, la terza martedì 2 luglio) senza approvare lo statuto dell’Area marina protetta. Sono stati presentati emendamenti che dovranno essere discussi e analizzati. Le associazioni anticipano che con questo andazzo chiederanno i commissariamento al Ministero dell’Ambiente. «Si sta consumando un danno economico a discapito di molte famiglie (pescatori e sub) e di immagine alla Città di Milazzo – continua la nota – dove le responsabilità sono chiare e individuabili da tutti. Senza l’istituzione del Comitato di gestione l’intera area verrà blindata e non sarà possibile fare attività». Le associazioni parlano di «ripicche e veti politico-personali» che «non possono frenare un modello di sviluppo sostenibile che è votato all’occupazione e a una economia che intende tutelare in primo luogo proprio i pescatori». In occasione della presenza a Milazzo del Ministro all’Ambiente Costa, lo scorso 23 aprile, alcuni componenti del Consiglio Comunale si erano impegnati ad esitare la proposta di deliberazione in tempi celeri. «Tra esame in commissione e ben due rinvii in Aula, la delibera è nelle mani dell’organo consiliare da oltre un mese e mezzo. Tutt’altro dall’impegno espresso nei confronti di un Ministro della Repubblica che attende l’approvazione dello statuto da parte dell’Ente», sostengono. Consigli comunali zeppi di «interventi privi di fondamento giuridico e scientifico col solo fine di alimentare populismo e demagogia». «Un’azione politica distorta attraverso messaggi errati e fuorvianti che non rappresentano la realtà – attaccano – Chiederemo alla Capitaneria di Porto di Milazzo di intensificare ulteriormente i controlli nella zona per evitare l’accesso all’interno dell’Amp. Allo stesso tempo, valuteremo la possibilità di chiedere al Ministro Costa il commissariamento dell’Area Marina Protetta. L’onta peggiore e inevitabile, in caso di ulteriore atteggiamento palliativo, di cui si macchierà la Città di Milazzo e ancor più la politica locale che continua a galleggiare prendendo tempo su un argomento di vitale importanza per il territorio».
